If you are interested in attending any of our upcoming institutes, please contact Lola Berber-Jimenez at lberberj@calpoly.edu for more information. You may also access the CCSP calendar at the California Science Project Calendar.

If you have never attended a Science Project before, you will be required to register to the California Subject Matter database. Just find the institute you are intersted in attending and click "sign-up online." Easy to follow instructions will guide you through the process.

5th Grade Science Leadership Institute
  What? A ten-day summer science leadership institute at Cal Poly and five-day follow-up meetings during the 2003-2004 academic year.
Theme:Physical and life science instruction on the Central Coast using science & language stadards and your school adopted instructional materials and local resources.
When? July 7 - July 18 at Cal Poly State University, Crop Science Building
Who? K-12 Teachers. Limited space. Applicants from Guadalupe Union School District, Santa Maria-Bonita SD and schools with high ELL student population will receive first priority. New and experienced teachers are welcome.
6th Grade Science Leadership Institute
  What? A ten-day summer science leadership institute at Cal Poly and five-day follow-up meetings during the 2002-2003 academic year.
Theme: Geology on the Central Coast using standards, the new framework, your school adopted instructional materials and local resources.
When? July 8- July 19 at Cal Poly State University.
Who? K-12 Teachers. Limited space. Applicants from Guadalupe Union School District, Santa Maria-Bonita SD and schools with high ELL student population will receive first priority. New and experienced teachers are welcome.
Energy and the Environment
  What? A ten-day summer science leadership institute at Cal Poly and five-day follow-up meetings during the 2001-2002 academic year.
Theme: Energy and the Environment in the Central Coast using the new framework, your school adopted instructional materials and local resources.
When? August 6-August 17 at Cal Poly State University.
Who? K-12 Teachers. Limited space. Applicants from Guadalupe Union School District, Santa Maria-Bonita SD and schools with high ELL student population will receive first priority. New and experienced teachers are welcome.
Growing in Language and Learning
  What? A 5-day summer science institute at Cal Poly with 40 hrs follow-up meetings, and 40 hrs on-site during the 2002-02 academic year.
Theme: Growing in Language and Science using the School Garden, science and language development standards, the new frameworks, and your school adopted instructional materials.
When: July 30-Aug 3 at Cal Poly State Univ.
follow-ups on Saturdays during the 2001-02 year
Who? K-12 teachers. Limited space. Applicants with high ELL students recieve priority. Teams of 5-10 per school preferred.
